Bible Tools
Here are the best bible tools I have found and use. These are computer, smart device, and book based bible study tools. As I read and study the bible these are the tools I go to again and again to study the scriptures, listen to the bible, or to get a better understanding of the original language.
Computer Based
The foundational tool I use is E-Sword. This installation includes the King James Version w/ Strong's numbers, Strong's dictionary, and the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge cross-references. To get if free go here:
http://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html
The other program I use and highly recommend is called Bible Essentials (more details on this at the end of the section). The latest version can be purchased here:
http://www.amgpublishers.com/main/index.cfm?do=view&qu=wordsearch
One last tool I use and recommend is logos. The base package is free and you can get it here:
https://www.logos.com/pc
For me personally I added to my base package both Bible Essential, and The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge Most pay for bible resources that are are available today can be added for a fee to your logos library. The nice part is many of these same tools can be used on your smartphone as well.
For those that want more advanced tools than I care to use.
I have friends who are scholars and theologians. I am not one nor do I care to be. However, if you are aspiring to be one here are some tools scholars and theologians recommend.

Here are some more specific examples on how you can use some of the products listed above. Bible Essentials - is keyed to the exact same numbers as the Strong's Concordance. I call it the "The Strong's on steroids" as the definitions of the original words are much more comprehensive than in the Strong's. If I'm trying to gain a better a better understanding of the original languages the scriptures were written in (new testament - Greek, old testament Hebrew except the book of Daniel - Aramaic) I can as an average speaking English person get a pretty firm grasp of what is being said in the original text. Also, if I'm doing a word study lets say on the word "health". Using e-sword's search feature I would see how many times it occurs in the bible and the really cool part is I can copy and paste all those verses into my favorite word process in two clicks. Also, if you want to study a topic from the bible I love the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge cross-references in e-sword. For virtually ever verse in the bible there are usually a half dozen or more text that reference that same topic or idea in other places of the bible.
